Saint of The Day by Rev. Fr. C. Mukuka, OFM Conv.
The world we live in is our common destiny as human beings. Each one of us, therefore has a responsibility to care for one another. In the light of Pope Francis’s encyclical letter “Laudato Si” No. 1 “Praise be to you my Lord (Laudato Si, mi signore) through our sister, mother Earth who sustains and govern us, and who produces various fruit with coloured flowers and herbs (c.f Canticle of the Creatures, in St. Francis of Assisi: Early Documents, Vol. 1. New York – London – Manila, 1999, 113 – 114.
In this regard, we (St. Bonaventure University Community) would like to thank the friends of the Salesians Sisters of Don Bosco for their generous gesture to us today, July 15, which marks the feast day of St. Bonaventure, who is called “The Seraphic Doctor” of the Church. St. Bonaventure is known for his leadership of the Franciscans and his great intellectual contributions to theology and philosophy.
